I want to use a dual electric engine cooling fan?

I have a 2002 chevy blazer with 4.3 v-6. I would like to add a electric fan and get rid of the standard pulley type fan. Has anyone done this before? Will it be worth it or is it a waste of time and money? Can I install it on my own(i am an average shade
