Can Central Air conditioning be installed in a home with Radiator heat?

We just moved into a home in Illinois that was built in 1880 and has radiator heat. I dread our first electric bill because of us having four window air-conditioners running 24/7 for most of August. Is it possible to have central air installed even though

Ductwork can be installed in the crawl space, or basement and that will cool the first floor, getting the ductwork in the walls up to the second floor would not be worth it. Getting the equipment in and running I can't imagine would be a problem, having
