How do you repair the VW oil filter housing?

I changed the oil for the first time in my VW Golf (R32) and the little oil filter drain plug Torx fitting is stripped out. How on earth would I get that out...or should I just replace the entire housing ($55) and drain plug ($20)?

If you have the funds available I would replace the whole assembly. If there haven't been any leaks so far it is likely torqued correctly, but the next time you go to change the oil you will have to deal with it again. You have until your next oil change

(1 diggs) Oil in Air Filter Housing kawasakizx6r G'day guys, just noticed while starting to get down to my valves that there was a little bit of oil in the air filter housing near the stacks. Also noticed upon removal a tube running to a little oil catch (I think that's what it is) and the hole that allows the oil to flow was where the oil was. The little catch had barely anything in it and the amount of oil in the filter housing was minimal - about 10mL give or take.

What kind of problems and reasons could be the cause of this? I'm not sure...
