Can you put car seat covers on a heated seat?

I have a 2007 Ford Focus, and I want to know if I can put seat covers on the front drivers & passenger seats. Both have factory seat warmers.

I have been told that you should not do this in the past - Is this the truth, or can I?

It's fine. Just don't use seat covers if the seat has a side impact air bag built in.
