207 cam belt problems?

hi i have changed the cam belt on a 207 1.4 16v 07 plate today, the water pump failed on removal of the covers there was only half a belt left due to rubbing on the covers, i pined up the cams and crank and replaced the water pump and cam belt also all

What's a plate?

Check the timing. Take the covers off and line up the sprockets again to check them. The timing could be off by one tooth. It seems that the crankshaft is advanced by one tooth which is why it idles off the scale.
