Do I have to re torque head bolts on a rebuilt engine?
Hey, I just rebuilt my engine and got new head gaskets, head bolts, and they checked to make sure the head is not warped. The torque for my head is 65-90 ft lbs, I went 90 and was wondering if I have to re torque the head bolts after awhile when the engine
most likely not if you were instructed to buy new bolts then they are most likely torque-to-yield bolts. that means they stretch a little as you torque them in which case you are done. re-torquing mostly has to do with what type head gasket you use. 99%
