what generates the hv pulse for a spark plug in lawn equipment?

i have a dead weedeater motor. ( i screwed up the gas/oil mix) and i wanted to know where/what causes the pulses to spark the spark plug? i also do electronics work and i thought this could be useful. what does it look like? also is there a capacitor
